Propagation
Divide established clumps (rhizome) during spring.
Take stem cuttings during summer.
Botanic information
Leaf: The glossy green lanceolate leaves tend to fold upwards and have an acuminate apex and a small or no petiole.
Flower: The deep violet cyathiform flowers have 3-sepals and 3-petals of unequal size with a yellow centre. They are arranged in a dense upright terminal raceme that appears from late summer to autumn.
Fruit: The small orange to red capsule is fleshy and contains 1-2 seeds. The small seeds are viable but the plant is normally reproduced vegetatively.
