Propagation
Sow fresh seed during spring and maintain a temperature of 16º to 18º C. (61º to 64º F)

Divide established clumps (tubers) during spring is the normal method of propagation.


Botanic information
Leaf: The leaves are reduced to membranous scales. The cladodes are linear to lanceolate appear singularly or in-groups of 3 to 8 along the stems. They have a short petiole and a cuspidate apex with an obvious mid rib.

Flower: The small white to pale pink campanulate flowers have 5-petals that tend to fold backwards. They are arranged on an axillaryraceme that appears during summer.

Fruit: The small berry is green becoming red during early winter. The small seeds are viable but the plant is commonly reproduced vegetatively.
