Propagation
Sow fresh seed during spring and maintain a temperature of 12º to 15º C. (55º to 59º F).
Divide established clumps during spring or at least every 3 years to encourage vigour.
Note:
It is moderately deer resistant.
Botanic information
Leaf: The mid-green sessile leaves are lanceolate to oblanceolate with an entire to lobed margin. The surface is covered in white hairs and the mid-rib is prominent.
Flower: The ray florets are yellow with a red base and the disk florets are yellow-brown. The flower heads are held above the foliage on a long scape and appear during summer.
Fruit: The small seed is not commonly seen and normally the plant is reproduced vegetatively.
