Botanic information
Leaf: The pinnate leaves have 7 to 9 ovate leaflets that are up to 65mm (2½in) long and are glaborous on the underside. The margins are entire and undulating and the petiole is short.
Flower: The 6 to 12 funnelform flowers have 2-slightly fused upper lobes and 3-lower lobes that taper to form a long flattened tube. They are arranged in a pendant terminal panicle that appears during late summer.
Fruit: The capsules are long and dehiscent and contain numerous flattened winged seeds that are dispersed by wind. The small seeds are viable but the plant is commonly reproduced vegetatively.
