Botanic information
Leaf: The mid-green ovate leaves have fine pubescence that gives it a velvety texture with prominent venation on the upper surface. The apex is acute and the petiole is short.
Flower: The pink to purple expanded tubulate flowers may be spotted mauve on the inside and are arranged in a terminal spike that appears from autumn to winter.
Fruit: The small capsule produces numerous seeds and the plant self-sows easily in a warm climate. The seeds are viable but the plant may be reproduced vegetatively.
