Propagation
Sow fresh seed during autumn or spring and maintain a temperature of 13º to 18ºC (55º-64ºF)

Take cuttings during early summer apply bottom heat.


Botanic information
Leaf: The mid-green leaves are ovate to lanceolate with an acute apex and a pubescent petiole.

Flower: The small tubulate flowers have elongated calyx lobes that form a tube and the 6-expanded petals are bright red. The flowers are arranged in terminal raceme that appears during summer. var.miniatahas smaller flowers and the cultivars are white or pink.

Fruit: The small papery capsule is dehiscent and not normally seen. The seeds are viable but the plant may be reproduced vegetatively in order to maintain true to type.
