Propagation
Surface sow fresh seed during spring in a well-drained media, and maintain a temperature of 16º to 18º C. (61º to 64º F). Prick out and pot up when they are large enough to handle.
Botanic information
Leaf: The leathery textured dulll green leaves are oval to lanceolate and are up to 50mm (2 in) wide. The petiole is short and the apex is acute.
Flower: The rostrate shaped buds are up to 15mm (?in)long and are arranged in groups of 3 to 5 appearing in the leaf axils. The flowers are cream to yellow and appear during autumn.
Fruit: The woody ovoid (cup-shaped) capsule is up to 15mm (? in) long and the valves are inserted.
General pruning information
Eucalyptusspecies require little pruning apart from removal of damaged or dead wood, which should be taken off at the collar. If the tree is cut back hard it will produce epicormic shoots and the crown may be lifted or thinned by removal of selected branches.
