Propagation
Sow fresh seed during spring and maintain a temperature of 19º to 24º C. Seeds may require pre-soaking over night.
Note:
This plant is difficult to transplant as it has a fine root system.
Botanic information
Leaf: The flattened leathery textured palmately lobed leaves are divided 2 to 3 times and have a pungent pointed apex. The upper surface is channelled and the leaves tend to be yellowish towards the base.
Flower: The small rosy-pink tubulate flowers are arranged in a globular spike that is up to 50mm (2in) in diameter. The rounded woody cone is a distinguishing feature of the genus and the flowers appear during spring.
Fruit: The fruit is rounded woody heads consists of small nutlets and is dispersed by gravity.
