Propagation
Sow fresh seed during spring and maintain a temperature of 16º to 18º C.
Note:
Care should be taken when selecting a site as the tree has vigorous roots that can lift concrete and block drains.
Botanic information
Leaf: The leaves are elliptical to lanceolate with an acute apex and entire, slightly recurved margins. The underside is greyish and woolly and when crushed the leaves are aromatic.
Flower: The cyathiform flowers have 5-sepals and 4-white petals with a mass of creamy stamens that are arranged in 2-whorls. The flowers are arranged in a globular cluster on a long peduncle and appear from spring to early summer.
Fruit: The capsule is composed of a compound-head and the seeds are dispersed by gravity, birds and water. The seeds germinate after low intensity fire.
