Propagation
Sow fresh seed after storing in a dark place for 3-6 months in containers during spring.

Take semi hardwood cuttings during summer and place on a misting bench. Take care when transplanting as the roots of very fine and can be damaged easily.


Botanic information
Leaf: The leathery textured small sessile ovate leaves have a long acuminate apex and are arranged alternately or spirally along the reddish pubescence stems.

Flower: The tubulate flowers have red with white spreading lobes and are almost sessile with a short pedicle. They appear profusely on the underside of the branches in the leaf axils throughout most of the year.

Fruit: The small capsule is loculicidally dehiscent and has numerous seeds, which are dispersed by water and gravity. The small seeds are viable but the plant may be reproduced vegetatively.
