Sow fresh seed during spring in a well-drained media.

Botanic information
Leaf: The light green ovate leaves become red as they mature and the underside is greyish. They are up to 120mm (4µin)wide and the apex is acuminate and there is 1 or 2 glands at the base.
Flower: The tiny flowers are arranged in a long slender terminal raceme with the female flowers at the base. They appear from spring to early summer.
Fruit: The globular capsule contains seed that is enveloped in yellow oily aril and is dispersed by birds and gravity. The seed has a long viability and germinates freely after disturbance. The seeds are viable but the plant may be reproduced vegetatively.
