Propagation
Sow fresh seed during early spring and pre-soak seeds in heated water 13º to 18ºC (55º-64ºF) for 24 hours. Seeds may require scarification.
Botanic information
Leaf: The crowded dark green linear leaves are terete with a rough or bumpy texture and are straight to slightly curved or twisted.
Flower: The small red to yellow papillionate flowers appear solitary in the leaf axils, normally in pairs towards the end of a stem from late winter to early spring.
Fruit: The small rounded legume is stiff and the seeds are spread by birds or dispersed by gravity.
