Propagation
Sow fresh seed during spring and maintain a temperature of 10º to 20º C. (50º to 68º F)

Divide established clumps (rhizome) during spring. It has a short woody rhizome with fibrous lateral roots.

This plant is not normally cultivated for ornamental purposes in Australia.

Note:
As a weed it is removed by hand using a small knife or is poisoned with glyphosate.

Botanic information
Leaf: The lower mid-green leaves are spathulate with a petiole up to 300mm (12in) long and the upper leaves are sessile. The margins vary from entire to lobed (pinnatisect) and the plant is hairless (glaborous).

Flower: The yellow radiate flowers have a pedicle that is up to 300mm (1ft) long and appear from spring and continue sporadically throughout summer.

Fruit: The numerous winged seeds germinate easily requiring light and heat in an open position. It is dispersed by wind, golden finches or parrots and is viable for up to a one year. The seeds are viable but the plant may be reproduced vegetatively.
