Divide established clumps (rhizome) during spring.


Botanic information
Leaf: The yellowish-green leaves are ovate to lanceolate up to 15mm (? in)wide and the apex is acuminate. It has a sheath that is membranous and the upper surface is hairy with parallel venation.

Flower: The bisexual blue crateriform flowers may have 2 or 3-petals and appear solitary from spring to summer.

Fruit: The small capsule contains 5-seeds that are brown to black and 2 to 3 mm long. These are dispersed by water and mud. It may be dispersed vegetatively in rubbish tippings.
