Sow fresh seed during spring.

Note:
If plant parts are ingested they may cause stomach upset as it contains oxalates.


Botanic information
Leaf: The trifoliate leaves have 3-leaflets that are obcordate, up to 40mm (1?in) wide and the petiole is up to 150mm (6in) long. The upper surface commonly has purple-brown blotches and the leaflets fold up during night or in low light.

Flower: The yellow funnelform flowers have 5-obovate spreading petals with a cluster of greenish stamens in the centre. There are 3 to 16 flowers arranged in an umbellate cyme that is held above the foliage on a lax peduncle that is up to 300mm (1ft) long. They appear from late spring to summer.

Fruit: The capsule is explosive dispersing the tiny seeds are very viable.
The white egg-shaped bulbils are fleshy and the rhizome is tapered appearing above the adult bulb during autumn.
