Botanic information
Leaf: The mid green trifoliate leaves have elliptical to ovoid leaflets with an emarginate apex that may be indented. The upper surface may have markings that vary from black, purple to white.

Flower: The small whites to pink tinge papillionate flowers have calyx lobes with 10-veins and the pedicle is short. They are arranged in an umbel-like globular head that is held above the foliage on a slender scape that appears during summer.

Fruit: The small legume contains 1 to 2 seeds and is usually enclosed in the persistent calyx. The seeds are viable but the plant may be reproduced vegetatively.
