Propagation
Divide mature clumps (rhizome) during spring.

Sow fresh seed during spring and maintain a temperature of 16º to 18º C. (61º to 64º F).

Note:
When handling this plant it is advisable to wear gloves as it has sharp spines.

Botanic information
Leaf: The dark green leaves are reduced to membranous scales. The cladodes are linear to lanceolate with up to 20 per cluster.

Flower: The very small white to pink flowers are nodding and appear solitary in the leaf axils during summer.

Fruit: The light green berry is arranged at the end of the branchlets. The seeds are viable but the plant may be reproduced vegetatively.
