Propagation
This plant is not normally cultivated for ornamental purposes.
Sow seed during spring in a well-drained moist media.

Take stem cuttings during summer.


Culture
The flowers and fruit is produced on the previous seasons growth and the plant is normally trained on a wire frame with horizontal branching. Remove stems once fruiting is finished and allow the new growth to emerge.

Botanic information
Leaf: The dark green palmate leaves have 3 to 5 leaflets that are biserrate to serrate with a short spiny petiole. The underside is whitish and has fine prickles on the main veins.

Flower: The white crateriform flowers have 4 to 5 petals and are arranged in a terminal raceme that appears on the previous season`s growth from spring to summer.

Fruit: The succulent tasty berry is green to red becoming purplish-black when ripe and consists of many druplets in a terminal cluster. The small seeds are up to 8mm (¥in) long. The seeds are viable but the plant may be reproduced vegetatively in order to maintain true to type.
