Propagation
This plant is not normally cultivated for ornamental purposes.
Sow seed during spring requiring good light for germination.
Take stem cuttings during summer.
Botanic information
Leaf: The soft textured ovate to rhomboidal leaves have a long petiole and obvious 3-nerved venation on the upper surface. The undersides may be slightly hairy and they are up to 60 mm (2in) wide.
Flower: The white radiate flowers are missing the ray florets and the small flower heads and are arranged in dense cluster. They appear from spring to summer.
Fruit: The small fruit has tufts of soft hairs producing from 10,000 to 100,000 seeds per year and is dispersed by wind, water, mud attached to machinery or on feet. It has a long flowering period with peak seed production from summer to autumn.
Note
The spraying of chemicals in waterways has to be carried out with minimal contamination of the water. Where possible apply the chemicals by rubbing it on with a mop or simular tool.
