Propagation
Sow fresh seed and scarify by soaking in warm water for 24 hours and or nicking seed coat. Maintain 13º to 18º C.

Take semi-hardwood cuttings during summer root quickly and care should be taken not to disturb the roots when potting up.


Botanic information
Leaf: The dark green leaves have 3 to 5 lobes that are up to 20mm (µ in) long with recurved margins and a sharp pointed apex.

Flower: The red tubulate flowers are arranged in a one sided spike that is up to 100mm (4in) long (toothbrush-like), They appear prolifically over the plant predominately during spring and sporadically throughout the year.

Fruit: The boat-shaped follicle contains two winged seeds. The fruit may appear on the plant throughout the year and the small seeds are viable but the plant is commonly reproduced vegetatively.
