Propagation
Take semi-hardwood cuttings during late summer and apply bottom heat.
Layering Is carried out during summer.
Sow fresh seeds during the spring in a well-drained media and keep moist.
Botanic information
Leaf: The glossy dark green leaves are oblong to oval and when young are downy and reddish. They have prominent venation on the upper surface and a stiff leathery texture.
Flower: The waxy white funnelform flowers have 5-petals that are fused at the base and the throat is a yellow-green with a projecting style. The leafy calyx is lobed and the flowers are arranged in a terminal or axillarycorymb that opens progressively from spring to summer.
Note
The flowers are unisexual and the male flowers have 2- sepals and petals with numerous central stamens that have bright yellow anthers. The female flowers have 2-5 sepals and petals that are of similar size and colour and contain a 3-sided ovary with 3-styles and stigmas. Both male and female flowers are arranged in the same inflorescence.
Fruit: The capsule is flat and hairy and contains numerous seeds that are viable but the plant may be reproduced vegetatively.
