Propagation
Sow fresh seed during spring and maintain a temperature of 16º to 18º C. (61º to 64º F)
Take cuttings during summer and apply bottom heat.
Layering is carried out during summer.
Botanic information
Leaf: The dark green bipinnate leaves have 15 to 20 oblong leaflets that are soft textured and have an acute apex.
Flower: The crimson funnelform flowers have small petals with numerous stamens that are up to 40mm (1?in)long. They are arranged in a spherical axillary umbel that is up to 70mm (2? in)wide and appear from spring to early summer.
Fruit: The pods are flattened and contain numerous seeds that are viable but the plant may be reproduced vegetatively.
