Propagation
Sow fresh seats during spring and a well-drained media and the seeds germinate readily.


Botanic information
Leaf: The leathery textured trifoliate leaves have a larger terminal broad elliptical leaflet that is up to 40mm (1½in) long with an abrupt acuminate apex and a long stalk. The undersides are thorny. They are sparsely arranged alternately along the slender woody stems.

Flower: The red papillionate flowers are tipped in yellow and green. They are arranged in a dense raceme that appears amongst the foliage during spring.

Fruit: The narrow seed pod is covered in pungent spines and the apex is very long acuminate. It becomes brown as it ripens and is slightly constricted between the seeds.
