Propagation
Sow fresh seed during autumn or in spring and keep moist.
Divide established clump is the normal procedure and carried out in spring.
Botanic information
Leaf: The mid green long linear to lanceolate leaves have an acuminate apex and are arranged in fan-like pattern from the base.
Flower: The blue-violet rotate flowers have a short perianth tubeare with a yellow eye. They are arranged in a cyme that is held above the foliage during early summer. The flower stems emerge from leaf stems that die off after flowering. This may affect the health of the plant after excessive flowering.
Fruit: The small capsule contains numerous seeds, which will self-sow readly. The seeds are viable but the plant may be reproduced vegetatively in order to maintain true to type.
