Propagation
Sow fresh seed during spring and maintain a temperature of 18º to 21º C. (64º to 75º F)

Take soft tip cuttings of non-flowering shoots during the growing period and insert in a well drained sandy medium and placed in a protected humid position. Apply bottom heat to encourage fast root development.


Botanic information

Leaf: The dull green elliptical leaves are of unequal sizes and are arranged oppositely on reddish stems. The upper surface has prominent venation.

Flower: The rotate mauve-purple flowers are symmetrical with 4-spreading rounded petals and 4-sepals. They are arranged in a cyme that appears amongst the foliage during spring.

Fruit: The small capsule is not commonly seen and the seeds are viable but the plant is commonly reproduced vegetatively.
