Propagation
Sow fresh seed during spring in containers and keep moist.
Divide established clumps when dormant in late winter.
Botanic information
Leaf: The long linear dark green leaves are up to 20mm (µin)wide and have a short thick stem.
Flower: The small mauve-purple cyathiform flowers have 4 to 7 tepals and no petals. They are arranged in dense upright raceme on leafless scape that appear amongst the foliage during summer.
Fruit: The shiny purplish berries are fleshy and contain one to two seeds. Black berries are produced on Liriope muscari 'Variegata'. The small seeds are viable but the plant is commonly reproduced vegetatively to maintain true to type.
