Propagation
Sow fresh seed during early spring and pre-soak seeds in heated water 13º to 18ºC (55º-64ºF) for 24 hours. Seeds may require scarification (peeling treatment).
Take cuttings during the growing period.
Botanic information
Leaf: The dark green acicular phyllodes are rigid and flattened and have a prominent nerve on either side. The apex is sharply pointed and the phyllodes are arranged alternately along the slender stems.
Flower: The cream to bright yellow bisexual tubulate flowers have inconspicuous sepals and petals with prominentstamens. They are 20 to 30 flowers arranged in a ball-like raceme on a short peduncle and appear in early spring.
Fruit: The pods are linear, flattened and curved with even constrictions between the seeds. The seeds are dull black oval to oblong in shape. The seeds germinate after low intensity fire in its native setting.The seeds are viable but the plant may be reproduced vegetatively.

General information on pruning Acacia species
Tolerates a light prune after flowering back to a node, remove any dead wood back to the collar. If there is insufficient light towards the base of the tree prune the crown to allow the light in. The plants tend to be easily damaged by wind or borers, and damaged material should be removed.
