Leaf: Ligule: fringe of short hairs
Collar: broad, continuous and pubescent at the base
Sheath: Auricles: absent
Vernation: rolled      Width is 1.5 mm.
The lignt green lanceolate leaves have ciliate (hairy) margins.

Flower: The inflorescence is short and spike-like with the spikelets laterally compressed. They appear above the foliage during summer.

Fruit: The small seeds are viable but the plant may be reproduced vegetatively.
