Botanic information

Leaf: Ligule: membranous, short, truncate, few fine hairs
Collar: broad and continuous
Auricles: absent
Vernation: rolled     
Width is 3 to 4 mm.

Flower: The inflorescence is composed of two spikes that are directly opposite each other. The spike-like racemes may be in pairs or arranged in three's and they are erect at first then spreading, appearing during summer.

Fruit: The seeds are dispersed by attachment or wind. The seeds are viable but the plant may be reproduced vegetatively.
