Sow fresh seed during spring and keep moist.
Divide established clumps during spring.
Botanic information
Leaf: Ligule: membranous and very short
Auricles: absent
The aromatic leaves have an acuminate apex and are up to 1m (3 ft) long by 25mm (1 in) wide. The tips turn brown in cooler climates.
Flower: The flowers appear in a raceme with paired branches and are reflex when mature. They appear regularly in tropical conditions but sporadically in summer in cooler regions.
Fruit: The small seeds are viable but the plant is commonly reproduced vegetatively.
