Sow fresh seed at the rate of 50g per square metre during early summer and keep moist.


Botanic information
Leaf:The dull green linear leaves have a fine texture with a long acuminate apex.
Ligule: membranous
Collar: broad and continuous
Auricles: absent

Flower: The fertile sessile spikelets have awns and hairs and are arranged in a sub-digitate raceme that appears from summer to autumn. The infertile pedicellate spikelets have no awns and all flowering stems are red particularly at the nodes.

Fruit: The tiny brown seeds are viable and fresh seed should be stored for 4-months before sowing to help overcome dormancy.
