Propagation
Divide established clumps from autumn to spring.

Take semi-hardwood cuttings during summer.


Botanic information
Leaf: The leaves are ovate to lanceolate with and acute apex and a petiole that is up to 10mm (?in) long. The species is green and variegated forms are available.

Flower: The purplish axillary salverform flowers have 5-expanding petals and are held above the foliage on a slender scape that is up to 35mm (1½in) long. They appear profusely from spring to autumn.

Fruit: The follicle appears in pairs and is joined at the base and tapers towards the apex. It contains up to 10 small seeds that are viable with no endosperm but the plant is commonly reproduced vegetatively.
