Culture
It tolerates warm to temperate climates where it will form a dense wear-resistant tufted turf with extensive tillering. Excessive thatch build-up will occur in soils with a pH lower than 5.0 and may be mixed withPoa pratensisin general purpose lawns in cool areas. The quality of the turf declines if high levels of water and nitrogen are applied.

Sheath: Not keeled, split part way, some fine hairs
Auricles: absent
Vernation: folded, V shape deeply ridged on upper surface, stiff to rigid margins * Width is 1 to 2 mm.

Flower: The inflorescence is narrow and erect constricted panicle and appears during summer.

Fruit: The seeds are tiny and there is about 1,203,722 per kg.
