Propagation
Sow ripe seeds in a well-drained media and maintain a temperature of 19º to 27º C. (66º to 81º F). Germination takes up to 3 months.
Botanic information
Leaf: The arching grey green costapalmate fronds have stiff spreading segments that tend to droop at the tips and are accompanied with a few cotton-like threads. The petiole is short and spreading at the base and persist on the trunk.
Flower: The small creamy-white cyathiform flowers are bisexual with 3-fused sepals and 3-fused petals. They are arranged in a large panicle that appears in the leaf bases during early summer.
Fruit: The spherical drupe has a thin dry mesocarp and contains a thin black seed.
