Propagation
Sow fresh seed from spring to early summer in a well-drained media.

Botanic information
Leaf: The dark green palmate leaves have a long petiole and the 5 to 7 lanceolate leaflets have a serrated margin.

Flower: The solitary funnelform flowers appear in the leaf axils and open with the upper part being reddish-violet with a yellowish stripe. They appear profusely over the tree during autumn.

Fruit: The capsule is pear-shaped with the seeds encased in silky floss.
