Botanic information
Leaf: The leaves are elliptical to oblong or ovate with an acute apex and a rounded base with a petiole up to 30mm (1Ľin) long.It has a dark green upper surface and is pale green beneath.

Flower: The salverform flowers are held above the foliage on a slender pedicle that is up to 30mm (1Ľin) long.The colour in the cultivars ranges from purple to white and the flowering period is from spring to early summer and sporadic throughout summer in warm zones.

Fruit: The follicle contains seeds that are very small and has no endosperm. The small seeds are viable but the plant is commonly reproduced vegetatively.
