Botanic information
Leaf: The leaves are elliptical to oblong or ovate with an acute apex and a rounded base with a petiole up to 30mm (1¥in) long.It has a dark green upper surface and is pale green beneath.

Flower: The salverform flowers are held above the foliage on a slender pedicle that is up to 30mm (1¥in) long.The colour in the cultivars ranges from purple to white and the flowering period is from spring to early summer and sporadic throughout summer in warm zones.

Fruit: The follicle contains seeds that are very small and has no endosperm. The small seeds are viable but the plant is commonly reproduced vegetatively.
