Propagation
Take soft tip cuttings that are 100mm (4 in) long during growing period and apply bottom heat.

Sow seeds during spring and maintain 14ş to 18ş C.


Botanic information
Leaf: The thin textured glossy dark green elliptical leaves have a short reddish petiole. The apex is acute and the upper surface has a prominent mid-rib.

Flower: The pendant bisexual tubulate flowers have 4-petals that are fused and a flattened calyx which gives the flower a chef's-hat appearance. They have 8-stamens and the flowers appear singularly from autumn to spring.

Fruit: The dehiscent capsule is explosive and has very small seeds. The seeds are viable but the plant is commonly reproduced vegetatively.
