Propagation
Sow fresh seed during spring in a well-drained media and keep moist.
Take stem cuttings during the growing period.
Botanic information
Leaf: The sessile dark green leaves are linear to lanceolate and the leaf base clasps the stem. The apex is acuminate and the undersides are purple.
Flower: A pair of tiny white apetalous flowers appear in the leaf axils and are accompanied with boat-shaped bract. It flowers during summer but is not normally a feature of the plant.
Fruit: The capsule is a bi-valve and contains normally four seeds. The small seeds are viable but the plant is commonly reproduced vegetatively.
