Propagation
Take leaf cuttings during spring and place in a well-drained media. Water sparingly as the plant can rot easily.
Divide established clumps during spring and place in a container or directly into a prepared bed.
Botanic information
Leaf: The leathery textured dark green leaves are long lanceolate and twisted with cross banding and may have yellow margins. The apex is acute and the leaves can grow to 1m (3ft) tall.
Flower: The small cream tubulate flowers are arranged in a spike that appears during summer but are not commonly seen.
Fruit: The small capsule is not commonly seenand the plant is normally reproduced vegetatively to maintain true to type.
