Take nodal cuttings throughout summer placed them in flats and kept moist and warm.


Botanic information
Leaf: The leathery cordate (heart-shaped) leaves have a dull red underside with a glossy green-red upper surface. The venation is prominent underneath and the petiole is up to 350mm (14in) long and is bright red.

Flower: The whitish spathe and spadix appears amongst the foliage during summer or during the warmer months and is not commonly seen on cultivated plants.

Fruit: The small berry is not commonly seen and the plant is normally reproduced vegetatively.

Philodendron,
This genus of plants is suited to indoor growth as in their native environment they grow in dense forest with dappled light and misty moist atmosphere and preferring to be left undisturbed.

When used indoor place in a brightindirect position and maintainhumidityby placing in a saucer of water. Keep the leaves clean and mist with water during summer or when the winter heater has dried the air.

Re-pot every two to three years with a drainage layer in the bottom of the pot of rubble then mulch the top with moist peat moss.

They prefer a constant temperature of 18ºC (65ºF) though will tolerate a wide range.
