Propagation
Aerial layering is carried out on new stems during the growing period.

Note:
Care should be taken when selecting a site, allowing ample room for it to grow as it has vigorous invasive roots that can lift concrete and block drains.

Botanic information
Leaf: The obovate leaves have a obcordate apex (violin-shaped) and the undersides are a light rusty brown with obvious venation. The glossy dark green leaves are arranged towards the end of the branches in older specimens.

Flower: The flowers are born in the axis and are unisexual. The male and female flowers are enclosed in the developing fruit and appear from late spring to summer.

Fruit: The small pome tends to develop throughout the year and is not a feature of the plant. The seeds are viable but the plant may be reproduced vegetatively.
