Botanic information
Leaf: The grey green lanceolate leaves have undulateing margins with an acute apex and a short petiole up to 12 mm (½ in) long. They are arranged alternately and may look whorled at the end of the branchlets and the underside is a lighter flat green and emit a lemon odour when crushed.
Flower: The sweetly scented small campanulate (bell-shaped) flowers have 5-strap-like recurved petals, 5-sepals and 5-stamens. They are normally seen on older plants and are arranged in a terminal compound umbel that appears during late spring.
Fruit: The oval fruit has 2 to 3 valves but is not normally produced in the cultivar. The seeds are viable but the plant is commonly reproduced vegetatively to maintain true to type.
