Propagation
Take soft tip cuttings or semi hardwood cuttings during summer.
Take heeled hardwood cuttings during winter and select mature stock.
Botanic information
Leaf: The leaves vary from oblong-elliptical to lanceolate and may have an undulating margins. The reddish petiole is short and the apex is obtuse. The bright green leaves are arranged oppositely or are whorled.
Flower: The large funnelform flowers have 5 to 7 crepe-like petals that are red-orange. They are solitary or arranged in a small cluster of 1 to 5 and appear at the end of branches from late spring to early summer.
Fruit: The fleshy berry is globose and is green ripening to yellow-red. There are numerous small white to black seeds that are viable but the plant may be reproduced vegetatively.
