Propagation
Sow fresh seed from autumn to spring and in cold climates place in a cold frame to germinate.
Take semi-hardwood cuttings during summer apply bottom heat.
Air layering is carried out during the growing period.
Botanic information
Leaf: The rigid leathery textured leaves are oval to elliptical and have margins that have a few or many serrations. The apex is obtuse and the petiole is short.
Flower: The small flowers are tubulate with reflex petals and are arranged in a terminal or axillarycluster that appears during late spring. The fragrance is jasmine-like, sweet smelling.
Fruit: The small ovoid drupe is enclosed in the enlarged calyx.
