Propagation
Sow fresh seed and scarify by soaking in warm water for 24 hours and or nicking seed coat. Maintain 13º to 18º C.

Take semi-hardwood cuttings during summer and will root quickly. Care should be taken not to disturb the roots when potting up.

This plant is resistantto Phytophthora cinnamomi.


Botanic information
Leaf: The oblong leaves are arranged alternatly along the stem and have a short petiole. The stiff glabrous leaves have a leathery texture with entire, recurved margins and a mucronate apex.

Flower: The tubulate flowers have a pedicle that is up to 9mm (?in) long with small villous perianth segments and the curved style is up to 20mm (µin) long. The flowers are arranged in a terminal umbel-like raceme that is up to 30mm (1?in) longand appear from late winter to early spring.

Fruit: The ovoid-oblong follicle is up to 9mm (?in) wide with a thin slightly pubescent pericarp. The smooth oblong seeds to 12mm (½in) long with a wing on one side. The small seeds are viable but the plant is normally reproduced vegetatively.
The boat-shaped follicle contains two winged seeds.
