Propagation
Sow fresh seed in a well-drained media and place in a cold frame to germinate. When planting out be careful not to damage the young tubers.
Divide established clumps during early spring.
Botanic information
Leaf: The mid green to grey green lanceolate leaves may be arranged alternately or scatted along the stems. The apex is obtuse and the petiole is short.
Flower: The 6-tepalled funnelform flower are green and heavily overlayed in deep red with yellowish tips. They are arranged in a terminal umbel that is held above the foliage and appear during summer.
Fruit: The ovary is inferior and the greenish ribbed capsule has many ovules and produces numerious black seeds that have endosperm. The seeds are viable but the plant may be reproduced vegetatively.
