Propagation
Sow fresh seed during early spring and pre-soak seeds in heated water 13º to 18ºC (55º-64ºF) for 24 hours. The seeds may require scarification.
Botanic information
Leaf: The large dark green pinnate leaves have 3 to 8 elliptical leaflets that are up to 130mm (5in) long with an acute to obtuse apex and a short stalk.
Flower: The small crateriform flowers have 5-calyx lobes and 5-oval petals that are slightly pubescent on the inside. They have 5 to 8 stamens and the ovary is located in the centre. The flowers are arranged in a narrow axillary panicle that appears throughout summer.
Fruit: The yellow-orange capsule is divided into two rounded lobes and contains 1 to 2 dark brown to black oval seeds. The fruit may develop at different times throughout the year.
