Propagation
Surface sow fresh seed during spring in a well-drained media, and maintain a temperature of 16º to 18º C. (61º to 64º F). Prick out and pot up when they are large enough to handle.

General pruning information
Eucalyptusspecies require little pruning apart from removal of damaged or dead wood, which should be taken off at the collar. If the tree is cut back hard it will produce epicormic shoots and the crown may be lifted or thinned by removal of selected branches.


Botanic information
Leaf: The juvenal glossy dark green ovate leaves may be arranged oppositely or alternately and becoming petiolate with age and grow to 170 mm (6µ) long.The intermediate broad leaves are up to 600mm (2 ft) and the concolorous adult leaves are narrow-lanceolate.

Flower: There are 7 to 9 flowers arranged in an axillaryumbel with a long flattened pedicel and appear during summer. They have a cylindrical hypanthium and the operculum is conical.

Fruit: The goblet-shaped woody capsule is slightly ribbed. The 3-valves are enclosed or level to rim which is normally wide.
