Propagation
Remove offset bulbs and replant in late winter to early spring.
Sow fresh seed during spring and flowers will be produced in 6 to 7 years. The planting depth is 2 to 3 cm (1µin).
Botanic information
Leaf: The strap-like linear leaves stand erect from a basal tuft and grow as the flowers die.
Flower: The orchid-like funnelform flowers aredeep red with 6-petals. Thetop three are erect and the lower three form a short tube towards the centre.It is held erect on a tall pink scape and appear from spring to summer.
Fruit: The small berry is not commonly seen and the plant is normally reproduced vegetatively.
