Propagation
Sow fresh seed during spring and the plant can self-seed easily.
Divide the clump during the growing period.
Botanic information
Leaf: Thelong linear to lanceolate leaves are up to 24 mm (1 in) wide with a leathery texture and are slightly swollen along the mid rib. They stand erect from the basal tuft and tend to arch with age.
Flower: The flat colourful iris-like 6-petalled rotate flowers stand above the foliage on thin wiry stems. The petals are white or pale blue and the 3-larger petals have distinct yellow markings in the centre. They appear from late spring to early summer.
Fruit: The capsule is green and ages to grey- brown and contains numerous viable seeds.The seeds are viable but the plant may be reproduced vegetatively.
